Hi my name is James Howe, I started as a commis chef in 2006 and have loved it ever since! I trained in a lovely 4 star hotel in Scarborough, North Yorkshire & on to Michelin starred restaurant in the dales. I was appointed my first head chef role at 22 and began to put my stamp on the culinary map. In 2017 I started Chef at Home. Since then, the business has gone from strength to strength. From a small catchment to National coverage and a growing team. Largely owed to my ‘philosophy’ –

Entertaining is easy, when you know Howe. Whether it’s a birthday party, hen night, anniversary, staff Christmas party or wedding. My team and I are here to make sure you have a fantastic meal that you can enjoy with your guests. I even do the washing up!
I travel all over mainland UK & occasional trips to Europe (I may ask for a bit of extra cash for the plane!). It doesn’t matter if its your home, a holiday let, manor house or the top of a tower block. If I have an address, I can get to you
You can book me for events any day of the week. Saturdays are for obvious reasons the most booked up, so if you are looking at a Saturday get in touch quick!
On the day I arrive 2-3 hours before service with all the food needed, my trusty bag of knives and anything extra you may have asked for. All the important stuff.
You’d book me because I have 1000+ clients that would recommend me without hesitation. Including the celeb wing - including Dele Ali, Tom Jones, Idris Elba, Lorraine Kelly, Natalie Dormer, Russel Tovey and Claudia Schiffer and the entire teams from Oxford Women boat race, RAM endurance race & Yorkshire Cricket Team.
